Qi Baishi is a world famous Chinese painter. He was awarded the International Peace Prize in 1955 and was the former chairman of the Chinese Painters Association. Qi Baishi was born in a poor peasant family. When he was young, he worked as a wood-carving craftsman. His diligence and creativeness made him a popular artist. His works are characterized by their vigour of form and spirit and their bright colours. His works have long been admired by people both at home and abroad.
